Hi, I’m Irka!

I’m an illustrator living in sunny Davis, CA, though my path here has zig‑zagged through Germany, the UK, France, Mexico, Kenya, and a career as a mosquito biologist. Eventually my love of drawing won, and I’m so glad it did.

I love how illustration can do it all: explain tricky concepts, spark curiosity, or just be a silly little doodle that brightens someone’s day.

I have a BSc, MSc, and PhD in science, plus a degree in illustration from Falmouth University, UK.

I enjoy working on all sorts of different projects, so please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to work together!
